About Altrusa...
Altrusa International was founded on April 11, 1917, as the nation's first service club for executive and professional women. The Battle Creek chapter was chartered on February 22, 1922. Currently the Battle Creek organization joins 425 chapters from the United States and 19 other countries, as part of the international organization.
The larger Altrusa organization is administratively divided into 15 districts. Battle Creek is part of "District Five" which includes parts of Michigan, Ontario and Ohio.
